Who’s Your Crew?

Rowing is the most selfless sport there is. It requires the complete abandonment of self and total unity. A rowing crew with unity can row faster and easier than they can with pure strength. God’s plan for the Church, your family, your business, and every Kingdom relationship is to dwell in unity like a unified rowing crew. God searches for unity. And when He finds it, it is the landing strip the blessing.

Key Points:

1. God wants us to see our relationships as crews. There are no stars in rowing; no one person is the key. Even in your relationships, you’re so much more powerful when you have unity and listen to your coach, Jesus.
2. God doesn’t want clones; He wants crews. No two people are alike; it takes everyone to accomplish the goal.
3. Pastors are not superstars; they’re coaches. The pastor is not supposed to do all the work but empower the saints to row.  
4. Jesus is calling you to find your crew. When you have your crew, you can find your “swing” and enter into effortless progress toward Christ. It’s not just about you crossing the finish line; it’s about others.
5. The Book of Acts is a book about crews. When the Church was born, everyone was in one accord. God’s Grace is poured out when we are in unity, empowering us to do effortlessly what others toil and labor to do.
6. You’ll never know victory without the right crew. You need a crew of faith-filled encouragers in your life; it can change your future and the destinies of future generations.
7. Unity requires forgiveness. When you forgive others, unity can do what you can’t do because God commands a blessing there.
8. Jesus can get you through your storm. You have to receive Jesus onto your boat willingly. And when you do, He will get you through the storm and get you to where you’re going.
9. You are a part of the team, even if you’re weak. If you’re going through something difficult, you’re still valuable and needed on the crew. When you hit swing with the relationships in your family, the devil will flee!
10. You need Jesus as your coach. If you willingly receive Jesus into your life, you accept the Peacemaker. When the Peacemaker is your life, he will speak to the storm and command it to be still. Jesus declares victory when he gets on your boat, and the devil flees from your life.

Final Thoughts:

God wants you to have unity in every one of your relationships, with Jesus as your coach, giving you direction and orders. Will you decide to have unity in your relationships and let God do what you can’t do alone? If you do, the anointing will flow, and God will command a blessing on your life.

2. Is there anyone you don’t have unity with that God is asking you to forgive? How can you choose forgiveness this week?
3. Who can you invite to be in your crew? How can you inspire them to live for Jesus?
