I Refuse To Be A Professional

Don’t let your faith become a profession instead of a passion. If you do, your faith will become polished but not powerful. Your faith must be something you treasure, or eventually, it will become nothing at all.

Key Scriptures:

Judges 17:6-13; Hebrews 11:23

Key Points:

  1. Don't be ashamed of where you came from. If you were raised in church, you are blessed and highly favored! Don't be ashamed of your roots of faith.
  2. Every step away from God is a step-down. When you walk away from God, you step down in life. If you have gotten lukewarm, get back to what the Bible says.
  3. You're not supposed to be normal. Don't get tired of the pressure of not feeling normal. If you never bump into the devil, it might be because you're going in the same direction. The devil doesn't oppose those that are on his team. When you get saved, the devil knows the power you have and wants to stop you! Don't let that resistance discourage your faith.
  4. Prodigals are coming home. If God gave them, He can save them! If your children were raised in church, they will never be normal. They will remember what it was like to be in God's presence and come back home.

Final Thoughts:

Be careful not to become content to just be a “professional” Christian. And if you’re in ministry, what you do is not a career; it’s a calling. You will give an account for what you do! So, don’t be embarrassed by your roots. Instead, be bold about your faith!
