4 Keys To Wisdom (Part 3)

“Again, truly, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there I am with them.” Matthew 18:19-20

Proverbs 30 speaks of four little things on earth that can provide us with great wisdom. The spider teaches us about determination. We learn about our habitation and who to build our life around from the cony. The third creature Solomon talks about is the locust. The locust teaches us about unification. Proverbs 30:27, “Locusts have no king, yet they advance together in bands.” The locusts don’t have anybody telling them what to do, but they have learned to stick together.

The life lesson of the locusts is to stay connected. Stay connected to the church. Stay connected to your family. Stay in unity with your husband or your wife. Don’t let a divisive spirit get into your marriage. Keep everything connected because Satan’s strategy is simple – divide and conquer! “Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity…for there the Lord commanded a blessing.” (Psalm 133).

A farmer is not afraid for his harvest if one locust shows up, but if a bunch of them are united and start attacking the harvest, he knows he’s not going to win that battle. Satan is that farmer, and he knows that if believers stand together, they are unstoppable.

There’s a blessing that comes with unification. God does not want you to isolate yourself. The Holy Spirit filled the upper room in Acts 2 when they were united in one place and one accord. Stay connected to church and the people that God has put in your life. Be as smart as the locusts. They’re not as strong as the lion. They’re not as pretty and graceful as a deer. They’re not as majestic as an eagle. But they know when they stick together, they will thrive!
