The Power Of The Cross

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalms 139:14

Jesus paid a great price so that we could live life more abundantly. He bled from His body in seven different places to heal every part of your life. He did it so you could be forgiven, saved, and set free.

The first time Jesus shed His blood was when He was praying in the Garden of Gethsemane. The Bible says, “His sweat became like drops of blood.” Jesus bled for the healing of your will, “not my will but thine be done. (Luke 22:42) The desires of this world will leave you empty and broken, but when you give your life to Christ and want what He wants for your life, you will start to live life to the fullest. You will want to be like Jesus and walk how He walked as you live a life of purpose.

The second time Jesus bled, He bled from His face when they tore His beard off. The prophet Isaiah saw this in a vision 2000 years before it happened. Isaiah 53:3-3 says, “He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces, He was despised, and we held Him in low esteem.” Jesus was unrecognizable after they beat Him and ripped off His beard. Jesus bled this second time for the healing of your self-image. Maybe you look in the mirror every day and hate yourself. You hear a voice that says you’re not pretty enough, not thin enough, or not smart enough. That voice has driven many people to despair. But the Bible says that God made you in His image, and you are fearfully and wonderfully made.

The third time Jesus bled was when they shoved the crown of thorns onto His head. This bleeding from the head represents a healing of your mind. Maybe mental scars from your past or present circumstances have left you in the depths of depression. Possibly, you have coped with your mental anguish with drugs or alcohol and are now addicted. Maybe you live your life in constant fear or worry about what will happen in your future. But Jesus bled to heal your mind. You don’t have to live a life of defeat and hopelessness. When Jesus shed His blood, He took the curse. The thorn represents the curse, and He shed His blood to heal your mind from abuse, rape, trauma, and every horrible thing the enemy has tried to do to you. He can renew your mind and set you free from the power of the past.
