Maintained my relationship with God

“During this time, not only did my relationship with God improve because I could hear his voice more clearly, but he also encouraged me to continue. He would ask me to prepare for the semester.”
As a Christian, I never took fasting seriously, I thought it was just a ritual that we do as Christians to grow closer to God and that's all. But beginning of 2020, God changed all that. I was meant to relive my result mid-January to continue my second year in Varsity. To my surprise I had failed both my modules and was meant to rewrite. I lost hope. Was my future even visible anymore? My church was taking part in a beginning of the year fast for 21 days. I decided to seek his face. Although I could rewrite and get back on track, I decided to do something differently. I told God I would not go forth without his hand or his blessings. During this time, not only did my relationship with God improve because I could hear his voice more clearly, but he also encouraged me to continue. He would ask me to prepare for the semester. To God be the glory! I was able to register for my next semester without rewriting any of the exams. I paid my school fees, bought new books, and was registered for the semester ahead of me. I still had a bit of fear in me because of the pain I went through. I was a bright student, so failure was not something I knew. Throughout the semester I maintained my relationship with God. I would ask him to guide me and show me how I can study differently, and he did. One of my books for the module that I was doing was not available at the school, the book was still being published so the students had to buy older versions which were very scarce. This was a little past the 21 days, I kept praying and he kept assuring me it would come. Through no effort of mine, he was able to provide the textbook through a neighbor of mine which was only favor, most of my classmates were not able to get the book and I did not pay a fee . I was also able to sell my books for the previous semester during the fast, way before anyone else which I used to buy my new books. Taxation was difficult but God granted me grace and I was able to pass 1/2 of my modules.
