Jentezen Franklin Commends U.S. House and Senate for Passing Border Bill

GAINESVILLE, Ga.  — With a growing humanitarian crisis spiraling out of control at the U.S. and Mexico border, Pastor Jentezen Franklin releases the following statement in response to the recent bill in Congress to address this issue:

“In a time of steep partisan division, I applaud House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for putting politics aside and taking swift action by passing legislation to help put an end to the tragic humanitarian crisis at our border. It’s truly a national emergency when people with malicious intent are exploiting families and children who are fleeing to America in a desperate attempt to escape poverty and violence. The trafficking of innocent people needs to be brought to an end. I encourage the President to sign this bill and I hope that he will push for the measures outlined in this legislation to be implemented immediately.

That being said, this is merely one step in many steps that need to take place. We need comprehensive immigration reform to fix our outdated policies and address the needs we have at the border in the 21st century. The border needs to be properly secured to better protect the American people, and we need to update the immigration process to more efficiently deal with the families looking for a better life here.”
