Change Your Words, Change Your Life

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23

Isaiah 57:19 is one of those verses that will change your life if you really get a hold of it and began to live it the best that you can. God said in Isaiah 57:19, “‘I create the fruit of the lips: Peace, peace to him who is far off and to him who is near,’ says the Lord, ‘And I will heal him.’” The word create means to form, fashion, and mold like a potter. God is saying (paraphrased), “I listen to what you say. I create, form, and fashion “the fruit of your lips.”

God has linked His creative, miraculous power to the words that you speak into your life. He creates, forms, fashions, and molds what you constantly and consistently pray for.

The word fruit means utterance. God creates the utterance of your lips. There’s a verse in the Bible that says, “hold fast to your confession.” You need to stop speaking malicious, evil, fear filled, emotion filled words and start to speak the Word of God with faith filled, praise-filled words. The Bible says if you think evil, lay your hand on your mouth. You need to make up your mind that you’re not going to speak out of fear and worry about your family, your health, your finances, and about the things that are overwhelming you. Speak only what you know is in line with God’s word, or just don’t speak at all.

Man is God’s only creation that can talk because He made man like Himself. Man has the power to speak and to confess. Change your words, and you’ll begin to change your life. If you want to become something different, change what you’re confessing. Change what you are saying. God said I gave you two ears and two eyes, but I only gave you one mouth. He wants you to listen and watch twice as much as you talk. You can create blessings or trouble with your words. You can create harmony or discord. Your words can fill your home with hell, or your words can fill your home with heaven.

What would you love for God to do in your life today? Ask yourself, what are you declaring out of your mouth? Words change the atmosphere of your life for good or for bad.
