Dark days come along and want to settle down on all of us. Depression may try to drag you down and steal your joy and passion for Jesus. But you weren’t born to be depressed. You were born to worship. You were born to praise. You were born to lift your hands and tell Jesus that He is your everything.

When you’re going through darkness, when it seems like you don’t have any answers, when you’re confused and don’t know what to do, remember that you were born to worship. Your worship will make a difference.

Even when the economy takes a severe downturn and you lose your job, your car and your house, that doesn’t mean God is against you. It doesn’t mean He’s angry with you. God is for you! You were born to be a king. You’re not going to stay down the rest of your life. There will be trials and difficulties, but you were created to overcome all of them. You are destined for higher ground, for greater things, for better days.

Give God glory no matter where you are or what you’re going through. Job’s first response was falling to the ground in worship (Job 1:20-21). It may not have been joyful worship, but he praised the Lord saying, “The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.” Even if you’ve lost everything, you were born to stand in the rubble and say, “He alone is worthy of glory and honor and praise.”
