Why Bother?

During the past quarter century, no presidential election has been won by more than ten million ballots cast. Yet every federal election during the same time period had at least one hundred million people of voting age who did not bother to vote. In the last major election over 4 million Christians stayed at home and didn’t vote. So much has happened since that time.

Marriage has been redefined, despite election after election in states throughout the US where attempts to legalize gay marriage was voted down. We have seen the Prime Minister of Israel rebuffed and embarrassed by our government, and Catholic hospitals and Christian doctors and pharmacists forced to administer care that is in direct conflict with their values and beliefs.

We have watched private businesses sued again and again for not toeing the line on social agendas supported by activist judges with clear political bias. And we have seen violence and racial divide all across our land as division sets in, instigated by the highest offices in the land. We have embraced a culture of death as never before and have watched the innocent die at the hands of the corrupt while the eyes and ears at the highest levels of justice turn a blind eye and lend a deaf ear.

We are challenging all Christians all over the world to declare November 6-8 as a season of prayer and fasting for our nation. Your prayers matter. Your vote matters. Pray that God would intervene as He has done so many times century after century. We need Him more now than ever before.

“Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
