See it, Say it, Seize it

How do you see yourself? If you only see hurt, disappointment, and failure then that is likely the direction you are heading in. But what if you get a picture of how God sees you? Over and over in the Bible we see God give His children a picture, a dream, an illustration to help make His promises clear. Let’s talk about how you can “get the picture” that will drive you to pursue God’s plan for your life.

Connection Questions

  1. At what point did Gideon believe that God would deliver the Midian camp into his hands? Judges 7:13-15
  2. What was the first thing Gideon did when he finally saw the picture (through hearing the dream and interpretation)? Judges 7:13-15
  3. When the spies brought back stories of the giants in the Promised Land, instead of grapes the size of watermelons, what affect did it have on the children of Israel?
  4. Can you think of other examples in Scripture where God used dreams, visions, or illustrations to help individuals see His plans and purposes?
  5. Have you ever had to look beyond the facts and use your imagination to see the possibilities? How did that help you push through a situation to your goal?
  6. Pastor quotes professional golfer, Jack Nicklaus, saying “I see every shot I take in my mind before my body gets involved.” We hear this over and over from athletes. How can you apply it to your life goals and dreams?

Conclusion: A promise from God is His divine intention in your life. He’s saying, “This is what I plan to do.” But the question is what are you going to do? Your response matters.

Connection Point:  Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things (Philippians 4:8).
