Connection Questions

Return to Me

December 08, 2017

“So David went to Baal Perazim, and there he defeated them. He said, ‘As waters break out, the Lord has broken out against my enemies before me.’ So that place was called Baal Perazim” (2 Samuel 5:20).

If you want to have a breakthrough year, then begin by seeking God. No one I can find in the Bible ever had breakthrough without first seeking God. David sought God, and God answered. Jehoshaphat sought God, proclaimed a fast, and God answered. When you seek God through fasting and prayer, He’ll show up. He desires to be in your presence, He desires to be invited, He desires to be in relationship with you!

Connection Questions

  1. What does the word “breakthrough” mean to you?
  2. Are there specific areas in your life you would like to see breakthrough this year?
  3. If we want breakthrough, what’s required on our part?
  4. How can fasting and prayer help you get to your breakthrough?
  5. What are you asking God for in your time of fasting?
  6. What can you do differently in your life beginning today to get the breakthrough you seek?

Do you need a breakthrough? Then break out! Break out of the norm and do something different! If you keep doing the same thing, you’ll keep getting the same thing. But I believe God wants to mark your life with incredible breakthrough.

DAVID JOSHUA E. BRIGHT Dear Sirs, The following incident took place on the Mental Health Unit against our disabled son David Bright that has left him with 'blackouts', dizziness, and a probable concussion without qualified medical treatment. As I was informed on December 12, 2017, our autistic son David got in some dispute with a guard on the.Mental Health Unit at DC Jail. Three guards took David off the Health Unit in handcuffs to an elevator or elevator shaft; there all three guards beat him till he fell down then they kicked him repeatedly in his head over and over again for several minutes. Then they ordered him to stand up to beat him again. David was then returned to his cell. The guards proceeded to take all his belongings and commissary his family procured for him; his toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, bible, shower shoes, everything according to David On 12/13/17 David was very pale with bruises and contusions on his upper face and head. At the time of the incident, David asked for medical attention and was ignored. He has dizziness and blackouts. We are concerned that he may have internal injuries and/or a concussion.David is terrified that the guards will do something again. David is afraid for his life. David is traumatized. We reached out to Dr. Bruce Reed, Director of the Mental Health Unit for medical intervention and follow up and have not received any response. on June 6, 2017, we reached out to your office regarding David's maltreatment; unfortunately, this abuse has continued apparently unabated. Is this DOC's policy to kick inmates in the head repeatedly and confiscate (steal) all of their belongings as a standard disciplinary procedure? We are contacting your office in that we have not had any response from DCJail Mental Health Unit. We need David to receive the emergency services any DC resident would have received after being kicked in the head several times. David needs his personal belongings returned and replaced that his family procured for him. Thank you again. Respectfully, Robin Bell Larry Bright, Jr. PLEASE PRAY FOR THIS CHILD OF GOD
