WHEN WE WORSHIP
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord (Colossians 3:16 NKJV).
Music is mentioned in the Bible over 800 times. More than 200 times God instructs, “Come into my presence with singing.” Singing to God is more than an act of worship; it’s an act of obedience.
God’s great wonders are made known when we sing (Psalm 105:2). As we praise the work of His hands and the depth of His love, other people hear and receive His message of hope.
Singing breaks the chains of bondage (Acts 16:25-26)! When we look beyond our earthly circumstances and sing praise, we change the atmosphere. When we sing, strongholds and addictions can be broken; sin can no longer hold us captive.
Ultimately, our worship prepares us for victory (2 Chronicles 20:21). When we sing, we are sending the Spirit of the Lord before us, declaring our dependency on Him and making known His presence in our lives.
There is so much purpose in our worship. When we sing, God listens. He responds.
HEAR THE SOUND . . . TODAY REMEMBER:
“Sing to the Lord all the earth; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples. For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised; He is also to be feared above all gods” (1 Chronicles 16:23-25 NJKV).
