The Value of a Dream

What is the real value of a dream?

A dream sets you apart. It gives you ambition. Your dream can keep you going when you have every reason to give up. Your dream can help you look beyond the probable to the possible!

When Joseph interpreted Potiphar’s dream, he should have been terrified. He should have been scared for his life. A great famine was coming that surely no one would survive. But Joseph had a dream of his own …

He had already survived torture, enslavement and prison. He had faced plenty of reasons to give up. Yet somehow, the dream kept him going. It lingered in his conscience. I believe, when he heard Potiphar’s dream; he began to realize how his own dream connected to the harvest and had been at work through all of his trials.

God designed you for purpose. He equipped you for the valleys and the mountains you would face. He’s not going to throw you into a test without first training you to succeed.

You can take all of the negative things you’ve experienced, pack them up neatly in your suitcase and strap them to your back. Or, you can unload them at the feet of Jesus and say, “I know what the enemy meant for evil, God meant good!” then keep pursuing your dream!

I read once that successful people achieve because they are willing to pursue something others think is impossible. Joseph saw the possibility. He believed there was a way to survive the famine . . . because he had a dream!

God gave Joseph a dream, and when the time was right, He gave him a plan. You may be struggling to hold on to your dream because you can’t see how it will ever come to pass. Let the dream become your drive. You may be the only one who can see it now, but soon, God will give you a plan and a harvest will come from it!
