The Power of a Vision-Driven Life

Sucker-punched.

Life has a way of pulling the rug out from under you. No one knows this better than Samson. Called by God, he once possessed potential to be the most powerful judge Israel had ever seen. Yet, one bad decision led to another, and at the end of his story, he is bound up, blinded and made into a mockery in front of his enemies. Not only was his physical vision taken, but also his internal purpose was robbed. Sucker-punched and humiliated, the rug was pulled.

If the enemy can convince you that your best days are behind you . . . he wins. He will degrade your soul with feeling of disqualification. For without vision, the people perish—and dead people can do nothing for God.

A New Vision.

A man who never knew weakness was brought to his knees. But there, in a prodigal moment, the wayward son made a decision that it would be better to be blind and serving the Lord, than to be captive to a lie. And like God does, He immediately gave Samson a new vision. The very thing the enemy intended to destroy him with brought him to a place of victory! It was Samson’s weakness that brought him strength. It was his blindness that brought him sight.

Isaiah 43 in The Message says, “Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it?”

A New Life!

Samson went on to do MORE after that one revelation with God than he had his entire life when living for himself. Sometimes the rug being pulled out from under us is the best thing that can happen.

Has life blindsided you? God doesn’t abandon His vision for your life when you mess up. You are not disqualified! You are still very much called, purposed and loved. Don’t allow the enemy to win this battle one more day. Turn back to the Lord and discover His vision for you. Plans to prosper and not harm you, plans for hope and a future!
