Made for More: Passion, Zeal and Worship

When you think of Jesus, what do you picture? Do you see Jesus as the gentle, quiet man from historic paintings? Or do you see the Jesus pictured in the Bible – the man who cast out devils, confronted Pharisees to their face, wept with compassion and chased the moneychangers out of the temple? Jesus wasn’t just gentle; He was also passionate and filled with zeal. If you want to be like Jesus, you need to be passionate about the same things that Jesus was passionate about.

Connection Point

John 2:15-17 (NLT): “Jesus made a whip from some ropes and chased them all out of the Temple. He drove out the sheep and cattle, scattered the moneychangers’ coins over the floor, and turned over their tables. Then, going over to the people who sold doves, he told them, ‘Get these things out of here. Stop turning my Father’s house into a marketplace.’ Then his disciples remembered this prophecy from the Scriptures: ‘Passion for God’s house will consume me.’”
