Follow the Star

Pastor Franklin’s message, Follow The Star, is not just an account of the wise men finding Jesus. It’s a reminder that God places stars in our lives to guide us toward Him. He uses us as His light to lead others. And we are to give Him our best gifts of worship no matter where we are. What exactly does it mean to be Starstruck? To recognize Christ is King and follow Him!

Connection Questions
  1. In Matthew 2:1-2 the wise men were Starstruck. They knew the King had been born when they saw His star. Talk about your experience when you first recognized Christ as King in your life.
  2. Were there specific people (stars) in your life that guided you toward the Savior? What was different about them in your eyes?
  3. Does your family have any traditions that have helped you hold on to your faith in tough times? Or maybe you are adding traditions to your family now?
  4. In the message Pastor mentions we sometimes think if we’re not in the palace, God is not with us. Can you think of unpleasant times in your life when you grew closer to God or became more aware of His presence?
  5. It’s easy to worship God in the high times. Why is it just as important (if not more so) to worship Him in the low times?
  6. The Word says we are the light of the world. We are those brightly shining stars close to the Son. Are their people in your life right now that you can more intentionally guide to Jesus?
Conclusion

Maybe that star shined so brightly because of its proximity to the sun. Just like we are to shine to the world because of our relationship with Him. There will always be seekers and searchers watching. Be the star for someone else.
