Hello Dr. Rich. I just want to say how thankful I am that Pastor Franklin has this fast. In the past 6 months or so I have made him MY pastor. I just graduated from Nyack College in NY with a youth ministry major at 53 yrs of age. I wish I lived in Georgia.

I have shared my fasting experience with my church body, Mission Hills in RSM and we are kicking off a 14 day corporate fast....very exciting. I'm doing the 21 day with Free Chapel not to miss out! I'm doing 1 week water, 1 week juice, 1 week Daniel.

I feel that I didn't get close enough during my fasting experience as I would like. As a nurse, my work hours are long and it feels like there's not enough time to spend praying. I pray this time will be different and I will draw closer and more intimate with my Heavenly Father.

I know what you are talking about. This year, however, I have decided that I want to give God my all, just because He is so amazing. God has done so much for me.
Well, so far so good!! I have purpose and will crucify my flesh! Honor God!

Thank you so much for your message. I read it just now, when I was struggling so much with the flesh and the discouragement I feel at my workplace. I no longer have the required passion. I will indeed finish the fast and will renew my mind.

Yes. I AM doing this fast. Yes I WILL do this fast. Yes I WILL finish this fast! My flesh WILL NOT have the final victory. The victory is ours through Christ. Thank you for your words of encouragement. Much needed. Please pray for me. Thank you!

This is my 3rd year and I look forward to fasting. Today I am having problems with focusing on the Word of the Lord. This day will be my hardest day yet. Today, I have to be more vigilant with myself. I will make extra time to be in prayer. Amen.

Now you are preaching! The truth will set us all free! The dread came just before the fast started. Now, the feeling pops-up from time to time, when thinking of how many days are left, but the pursuit of God and hunger for Him keeps me in.

Hi. This is my second year fasting. 2008 was not easy, but everything I prayed for came to pass. Me and my husband of two months love The Movement but I am already having attacks health-wise. The Devil is a liar! I am going ahead. Thank you! God bless!!

Greetings from Cape Town. First time on the fast and always wondered if fasting really does have a place in our modern age. I am convinced that fasting will release GOD's favor to His people. Thank you Pastor Franklin for sharing the truth of fasting!!

Praise the Lord-Day 3!!! This is my 1st fast with the body of Christ and keeping God as my focus and my heart's desire to draw to a closer walk and life. Also, for the Lord's sheep, the lost and our leaders. God can do all things! God bless you all!

Yes, it sounds like me. Thanks for that confession. This time I want to do it right. I want to see the wrong in me, not in others and repent and turn. I want God's will not mine to be done this year. I want to hear His voice clearly and do it.

Though my spirit was excited at the start, when I began I felt a bit like Pastor Rich just described. I felt like I was struggling to genuinely worship and praise God-not very spiritual. However, I'm committed to this and I'll overcome!

The Dr.'s comment is just what I am feeling right now. I am on day three do not know what to expect or what to do besides reading my Bible and hanging in there. I do believe God is truly seeing where my heart is as my flesh is screaming STOP.

Sounds like me last year. I felt compelled to do the Daniel, but instead I did a 3 day fast. I knew I needed to start the year with a fast so I figured I could get it over quicker that way. My heart was right. My flesh was not! I was still blessed!

I seek God's direction in my life and that of my family. I seek employment so that I do not have to leave my home and can support my disabled daughter and be a supporter to my husband. I pray that our college-age daughter be lifted from her depression.

I am so happy that I'm doing this fast. God has seen me through the first 2 days and I believe that He will see me all the way through. When I'm feeling weak, I pray in silence and read the Bible or whatever scripture God places in my heart.

I started the fast last year but only went for 10 days because I got sick. This year I'm committed to finish the 21 days even though I'm now sick, but I believe God is going to heal my body and my spirit as I seek to get closer to Him. Bless your family.

My 3rd yr. fasting. Last year, I started out with a full fast-three days, fruit next 4 days, Daniel remaining. I am trying the same thing this yr. Today is my last day on the full. I am weak today. I will go on, for I look forward to being closer to God.

His grace has sustained me so far! Day 3 is usually the turning point of how the rest of my fast goes. So I'm on the alert this year for fatigue, discouragement, irritability, dejection...all the attacks the enemy sends on this day. Be vigilant!

Pastor Rich, everything you mentioned is exactly how I have been feeling. I know our God is awesome and have seen what fasting has done in other peoples lives. What God does for one person, He will do for another through their obedience! This is also my first fast. I have to admit yesterday was pretty hard for me; it was my daughter's birthday and imagine having to be the one to put up the cake! I remembered step #2 fast as a spiritual commitment, and step #3 reflect inner desire by outer discipline. I am on day three and I can't wait to see what God has in store for me and my family. God Bless.

This is acutally my second time fasting. I got great results the first time I did it which was last year, things that I was not even praying for were giving to me such as a great job and so much more.... Praise God, I get closer to God each time.

You've put what I've been feeling so simple that I can actually visualize the finish line. As opposed to this morning when I was looking at my calendar and realized that 21 days is a pretty long time. But I'm seeking God and need to connect to Him.

This is my 3rd year fasting. The last part of 2008 was very hard. I was so depressed. I want back all the devil has stolen from me (my list is very long). This is my 3rd day of fasting. Today, I'm feeling and looking good.

Thanks for being so honest. It is good when a Pastor, a man ordained by God, is honest and open enough to remind people that we are all human beings and we struggle everyday to do the right thing. Please pray for me and my family. We are victorious.

On my 3rd day of a full fast. I decided to continue with the Daniel fast but I'm not at peace about it. There is a war in my flesh over how long to do the full fast. I'm not sure what to do but I'll continue on a full fast for a week. Can anyone relate to this? Any advice?

Day 3. I am feeling like this has been the craziest day. I have to focus so much more on God and less on the things which are or are not going on around me. I am going to get out of God's way and let God be God in my life. Stay strong in the Lord!

Remember to praise during our fast! I read Ps 147, 148, 149 and 150 and ALL talk about Praising God, for his faithfulness, with noise, with joy and being thankful in all His goodness! Fasting seems daunting and who knows how I will be tomorrow.
