Hello Blogger Nation!!!

My name is Rich Rogers (Dr. Rich) and I am the Campus Pastor at Free Chapel OC. I am so excited to be back again this year to go on the fasting journey with you. I feel like this blog and the thousands and thousands of bloggers (you) are like old friends. I remember the very first time that we posted this blog several years ago, and walking through each and every day with all of you together…memories I will never forget. If you are new to the blog, then welcome to our family! If you will commit to taking this journey together with us here, I promise you will never be alone. I know that as we link up together, we will see mountains move and we will hear the Lord speak to us, perhaps like never before. A few of my closest friends will be posting along with me over the next few weeks – Javon, Blake, Chad, and Adam, or “PA” (Pastor Adam) as we call him, here in the OC. I’m especially excited for PA as this will be his first time fasting with us. I think this first is actually really awesome for all you newbies out there – you’ll have someone experiencing everything for the first time right along with you!

I want to challenge each of you to begin to prepare your heart. You will find that as we enter into the fast and we progress deep into the heart of it, that the things of earth will indeed grow “strangely dim” and your entire outlook will begin to change. This is no small thing. Begin to pray, even now, that the Lord will move in an incredible way throughout the month of January and all the way through 2009! I look forward to hearing from each and every one of you…knowing that in the supernatural, we will all be knit together in a way that no earthly terms can express.

I begin my fast on the 1st with my church. (Friendship Christian Fellowship COGIC) in Riverside, CA. I am very excited about the fast. This will be my first 21 days straight. Although I will be a few days ahead, I will be right here rooting each of you on. God Bless!!!!

Pastor Jentezen's TV program has inspired me to fast in the beginning of this year. 2008 had been a very trying year for us as we lost our daughter. Her husband until now is suffering and children need help and so are we. I pray the Lord will move in an incredible way throughout the month of January and through 2009 for our family. I pray for a fresh new beginning, favor, strength to go on and God to direct us.

I am excited about this journey. I bought Pastor Franklin's book on fasting last year during the lenten season and I was tremendously blessed. I am looking forward to this time of fasting and praying. I know that this is the right thing for me to do in this season. I want this year to be fruitful.

I must say I am really excited about joining you guys this year on the 21 day fast! Last year for whatever reason I did not participate and I truly missed it! It is also wonderful to have a website with such a wealth of information on fasting. In years past as I have fasted I have searched for sites just like this and haven't found anything to compare! Several weeks ago I had questions about fasting and God answered them with Jentezen's book "Fasting." Thank you for all your encouragement. This will be my first fast, and I am looking for some serious breaktroughs in my life and in the lives of my family, friends, those around me and even abroad. I have never been so excited about a fast. We have followed the fast for a couple of years but this year will be different. We have recently taken a step of faith and started attending Free Chapel in Gainesville. It has been hard to pull away from our roots, in my dad's church my whole life. But we understand the importance of obeying God. It has been a stretching season - a faith we have never experienced before. I get emotional thinking about how significant this fast will be to our family.

I can't wait either! My husband is a pastor in Virginia and we have fasted on our own, but got the Fasting book, in 2005, and have fasted every January since then. It was actually during a fast (January 2006) that my husband received his first church. We have challenged our church to fast with us. Many are excited too - you can feel the expectancy in the air. What a mighty God we serve!

This will be my first year joining you. God has directed me to a fast for my family. My husband has left our family this last year. I feel it is an attack from the enemy and I want to join all of this family to defeat this attack I have noticed an attack on fatherhood which is a powerful force on this earth. I see the results of this attack on my girls. I am in agreement with you to pray for the leadership of our country and our homes and to believe for financial blessings on the family.

This is my third year with The Fasting Movement. I love the corporate fast. I own my own company, Kingdom Properties, and it is amazing what God shows and teaches - intercession, healing - and how He shares His love with me each year during this fast with Jentezen Franklin. In 2006, I got to experience Forward '06. I brought my 2 sons, 2 nephews, and 1 of their friends - AMAZING! I felt God's presence before we even entered the arena! I love this ministry and all it does. Join in - for miracles and revelation in your life!!!

This is my first time taking part in fasting with Jentezen Franklin. I have been reading his information for about the last month. I did a 3 day fast briefly and saw some results, and stopped. I am more prepared for the 21 day fast and expecting great victories: debt being removed (solutions to it), healing in relationships and health, stronger walk with God, to be more of a blessing to others, and all the more blessings that God has promised me. I am tired of being on this "mountain!" Praise God!

I started my 21 day fast early (1/1/09). I am really excited about doing this fast and now I have friends and family all over the world doing this with me. I did the same fast last year and it has been a blessing to commit the first 21 days of the year to the Lord is a honor and I have been looking forward to doing this, this year. Hello, I joined your fast last year and it was a real blessing. I'm very excited, this year my mother is joining-in. This is the first time I've read the blog. As I brought the New Year in, while praying on my knees, it just keeps going over and over in my spirit - "Arise...arise, in 2009!" When I got to know about the 21 day fast, in 2008, it was already a few days from the end, but listening to Pastor Franklin on TBN, I promised myself and prayed that I would join in the fast this year, 2009. I am happy my wife and I have signed up and we're looking to the Lord, not only to start the fast but to conclude and partake in all the blessings the Lord is going to release on us all. I was reluctant to join the fast this year. After one year of fasting, praying and giving, my husband was successful in divorcing me. He announced his engagement two months after our divorce was final, and my children and I are suffering emotionally and financially. Although I desperately hoped our marriage could be restored, I will fast this year for direction, wisdom, self-control, and financial blessings as I begin this journey as a single mother. Also, a new marriage blessing one day.

Hello, today is the second day of our church's (Fresh Anointing House of Worship in Montgomery, AL) fast. We are fasting the entire month of January as a first fruits offering unto God. For me, it started out a little slow or should I say unfamiliar. I always fast, but God is not conducting "business as usual." He is wanting me to shift, which I will do. It's good to have this website as another Kingdom tool. Sanctification. --Ebony

Hello, I started my first 21 day fast late last year. This year I started on the 1st but have not done very well. So I have joined in on this fast. I want to put God first in my life, I want to draw closer to Him, I want to please Him most of all. This is exciting to know all these people are fasting with you and praying for you. This is my first time participating in the 21 day fast. I have done the partial fast for 3 days. I am really excited about this fast. I know this will be hard since I am still fairly new to fasting but I also know that with prayer and the grace of God I can do this. I am fasting for a few things. One mainly that my 13 year old special needs son will be healed of a aneurism in his heart and for a very special friend of mine to come to know the Lord as his own personal savior.

I am fasting for health and healing for my husband, salvation for family members, healing and reformation for our nation, a fuller move out in the Spirit for me in intercessory prayer with greater wisdom, along with my husband and I gaining greater control of our eating habits to please the Lord.

Hi Dr. Rich, I agree that as we fast together corporately the outer world will indeed grow strangely dim� and our outlook will begin to change. Our Church "Peckville Assembly of God" in Pennsylvania is joining once again with Jentezen Franklin Ministries in this fasting and prayer ministry to the Lord. I am excited about beginning the fast. My husband is suffering from sarcoidosis and has not had one day of relief from pain in three months. Additionally, my son has autism and our debt is out of control due to these health issues. Furthermore, I have unsaved family members and friends that I am expecting God to touch. After watching Pastor Franklin on TBN, I was inspired to join your Fasting Movement. The 'Fasting' book is really an amazing tool that's prepared and encouraged me along this wonderful first fruits journey. I'm seeking wisdom and focus from our God. I feel that joining this fast is an essential step in my spiritual development. This will be the 1st time I will have joined this fast. This is also the 1st time I have ever entered a comment to any blog. I fasted with my church last year. The clarity and blessings I received were overwhelming. I pray this journey reveals God's will for my life. God has blessed my life and all I want is to be closer to Him and to have His will revealed in my life. I welcome our walk together.
